Wines
Six Gates wines are inspired by the masterpieces of iconic poets who intertwine wine and romance:
And if the Wine you drink, the Lip you press,
End in the Nothing all Things end in–Yes-
Then fancy while Thou art, Thou art but what
Thou shalt be–Nothing–Thou shalt not be less.
Omar Khayyam (1048-1131), translated by Edward Fitzgerald (1809–1883)
Six Gates Shiraz Majnun and Cabernet Leyli are inspired from the love story Leyli and Majnun. The legend resembling the “Romeo and Juliet” predates it by about a millennium and is one of the most popular epics of the Orient.
Under the optimum conditions at Six Gates, the mature wines planted late last century produce grapes of intense colour and flavours. The wines, rich in tannins have proven to improve well over a decade.
Wine labels produced by Six Gates also include a range of wines under Red Pebble reflecting the sun-rich outback Australia.
